My Eyes are Two

my eyes are two
chameleons
consumed by your drifting
blending with the drawn horizon

at the moment
you are beside me
it is dusk and a robin has just begun singing
the sky
still overcast    the rain    stopped
the wind gusting water from the leaves
thru this reflecting universe
towards something deep

together
we hold each other's solitude
and are indeed in love above the wild canopy

my eyes are two chameleons
that play in this mirror of hearts

for now    you are beside me
