Standing In Line

Like everyone else
On this globe
I am standing in line
For a Happy New Year.
And though there's an abundance
There were so many wishes
The line is moving
Barely at all.

Some will not get theirs
Till the middle of June,
But that's alright.
New Years delayed are retroactive
And everyone is advised
To go celebrate anyway without
The sure knowledge
Those first in line had.

I'm glad I am half way back.
Spam on the internet is such a menace;
Six months of celebration
Is a small price to pay
For delirious Best Wishes
In June, both forward and back!
