Fragments
i
We're mid-jump now
just air beneath our feet,
no telling whether we'll fly or fall.
ii
My city laughs with me,
pavement glistening
with tears.
The wind tugs at my hair,
all reckless joy,
sings of change.
iii
I feel words growing,
flowing again,
crowding in my veins
till my bloodstream's humming -
I'm alive.
So alive
it scares me.
