Gandhi In Tavistock Square
Here is Gandhi, brooding on his monument.
Not looking very happy.
Perhaps because stinking hellebore
has been planted in the borders round him –
not a pleasant tribute to a man of peace.
Or maybe because that pigeon with no manners
has just shat on his bald head.
If you have any comments on this poem, Gill McEvoy
would be pleased to hear from you.
