You've got an interesting accent,
says Matt to the man fixing the new cooker.
Yes, half Irish, half Brum.
Yes we laugh.
This is a good cooker.
Like the last one.
Nearly the same model.
Oh yes, we liked the one before but the door fell off.
You see, the dog wee'd on it.
The acid rusted the hinges.
He won't stop weeing in the house.
So what's to stop him weeing on this one?
Ah, I beat him.
A silence.
Then.
That would make him wee on it.
OF COURSE YOU DIDN'T we laugh.
Those words were silent.
We know how to talk to each other.
And we know what we mean.
