Look at them as they were; each understands
the other’s needs. No need to say very much.
Most communication is by touch:
the loving eloquence of holding hands.
Of course, it’s very different today.
It’s been a long time since they even kissed.
Each of them feels the other in the way,
uncompromising as a tight-clenched fist.
