Time Present
Not to pause,
draw breath,
accept distraction,
reach for the book,
shake off the dust,
remember the author,
regret his death,
open the cover,
turn a few pages,
glance at the bookmark,
recall that train journey,
wince at time passing,
think about re-reading,
you’d have to have a heart of stone.
