Stone Dress
I itch to pierce the rigid pleats
and stubborn petticoat frill
of this marble dress
with my needle; to embroider
a line of yellow flowers,
to add a pink gingham pocket.
There she is, the seamstress,
wanting to pour blood into grey veins.
