Iffy
If I were holding you tonight
I’d wrap my arms around you tight
as if the world could stop, just so.
Too many ifs, I know
I know.
Easier
Easier to say no
than yes?
If afterwards
I yearn more,
not less . . .
All for Love
Those who give all for love
ought to be quite sure
past investments guarantee
a future sinecure.
Those who give all for love
on any other terms
should make discreet enquiries
how much their partner earns.
