Adolescence
How can I study?
Why do I frown?
Kicking and screaming you plow through the town.
Who will adore me?
Will it take time?
Kicking and screaming you scribble in rhyme.
Are these my parents?
What do we share?
Kicking and screaming you try not to care,
try to keep singing,
blocking out home,
kicking and screaming from morning till gloam.
Bicycle pedals
bound to a gear,
kicking and screaming you ride through your fear.
Is there a poem
fit for today?
Kicking and screaming you pedal away.
