Generalisations
For many
the five pointed leaf
of the sycamore,
the Mr Whippy-
like blossom of the conker
do not reveal
the type of tree.
And now and then,
I would also
like to see
a tree as just a tree.
Wanting to be a butterfly
I know why
the caterpillar
eats all day.
Dealing with Depression
Like a jar left outside,
she says.
It’s as if
it’s been drizzling
for four days
and you are yet to notice
you’re drenched.
