Auguries of Pokemon

Oppression when enshrined in law
Provokes the decent Bulbasaur.
An Aerodactyl on the wing
Laments our human suffering.
Dugtrio busy in the ground
Pities the office worker's round.
When nations arm themselves in fear
The kindly Squirtle sheds a tear.
Charmeleon's flame and Syther's slash
Mean more than marketing and cash.
Venomoth's flight and Raichu's play
Are coded in our DNA.
While Pikachu is on TV
The living spirit shall be free.
Imagination still survives
In Diglet holes and Beedrill hives.

The dark  and light creations - all
Encompassed by a Pokeball.
