Daddy's Auditorium

He set us in place
with an audiophile's precision -
like several grand's-worth of delicate
equipment, destined to deliver
acoustic perfection.
Converging upon his listening chair

where, he would receive our excuses
Silent.  Reverently
absorbing the subtle interpretation
of his favourite gramophone
recording.  Stokowski conducts
our fidgeting concerto of guilt
