Sleeplessness is Homelessness' Stone
Sleeplessness is homelessness' stone,
Stuck inside my shoe, a constant pain,
Gnawing at my metatarsal bone.
All the eyes refuse to meet my own.
Eyes that stare behind the windowpane.
Sleeplessness is homelessness' stone.
Watch the money in their muscle tone.
Whitened teeth that smile without a stain
Gnawing at my metatarsal bone.
In my ears a whining overtone,
Half-hallucinated from the strain.
Sleeplessness is homelessness' stone.
Pocketing a cracked Obamaphone,
Showered by a passing acid rain
Gnawing at my metatarsal bone.
There's a place of free Lurasidone.
There wait nurses apt to tap a vein.
Sleeplessness is homelessness' stone.
Time to snap this metatarsal bone.
