Not Quite Departed

Facebook and LinkedIn announce
the birthdays of the dead
There's an afterlife on social media
where obituaries are never read.
 
But every year on this day,
I'm invited to wish John well.
Yesterday it was George then Joan.
Tomorrow? Well, who can tell?
 
Deleting social media accounts
isn't on the undertaker's list.
So every day social media reminds
me of the dear ones that I miss.
