Perilune Merriment

Michael
          Collins

‘According to astronaut Michael Collins, who stayed behind in the command module while his fellow crew members Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin first walked on the moon, “I was happy back there... And actually, going down and touching the moon, eh, that was not high on my list.” He reported feeling “satisfaction... almost exultation” during his time in the module.’

Hey diddle, hey diddle,
Collins the Astronaut
managed to think of his
plight as a boon.

Was he depressed by his
non-opportunity?
Never. In fact, he was
over the moon.
