Conversation with a Teenage Son
My message bounces back
undeliverable.
His face is a blank screen,
his in box full.
His father says
turn off
wait
turn on
press restart
but now I'm blocked,
don't even feature in his junk mail.
Have all my previous messages
been deleted at a swipe?
I'd rather think they're archived
in some half-forgotten folder
and that, one day,
they'll be retrieved, reread,
Maybe even
answered.
