End of the Monoverse
I’m a sort of ship
that can’t reach
that escape velocity
to leave myself behind
and arrive else-self
otherwhere free
of past and now and when
so I’m never truly to meet alien life
and learn of new ways
wise whys and happy hows
unless they decide to invade
my world, to abruptly disrupt
interrupt or corrupt
what was in fact intact
before they found me out
damn them
so I’ll form an underground
below the surface
resisting their insistence that
I conform and reform
or desist existing
yet I fear none
will join me either way
and all my fuel and resources will be spent
whether in flight or fight
and my temples, no longer
maintained, will topple
to be buried under
and forever forgotten
no trace remaining.
