First Impressions

Imagine why the crocodile
has cultivated such a smile.
His teeth are gleaming white, and clean:
no villain could have such pristine
and polished dentistry. They show
his pride in oral hygiene, so
this marks him out as one to trust,
with morals sturdy and robust,
and just the sort of chap who would
only consider doing good.
His smile says: Welcome! Nearer, please,
Ever seen gnashers good as these?
Dental perfection has appeal;
alas, it’s not the real deal.
He’ll maul you soon as look at you.
Some human beings are like this, too.
