The life I have lived is not a career,
It’s time to stop playing these games.
The road is narrowing with every year;
There’s no virtue in turning too late.
It’s time I stop playing these games.
There’s no dignity at the end of the road,
There’s no virtue in turning too late.
The wheel always turns, and so we turn old.
There’s no dignity at the end of the road;
Don’t tell me that more will be paved.
The wheel always turns, and so we turn old,
Outliving what our young selves maintained.
Don’t tell me that more will be paved.
The life I have lived is not a career,
This life that my young self maintained.
The road is narrowing with every year.
