Prandial philosophies with Heraclitus and
Parmenides
A man cannot eat the same chip twice,
Heraclitus’ heart is hastening here.
Parmenides petitions persistence,
putting forward the question one single
source potato, cooked in one vat of oil.
Or just the same plate. H cannot consume
this, philosophically, a chip is but one chip,
then the meal moves on. Counter-point P
that there always was, and will forever be
the offer of spuds on the side, thrice-fried.
