AI Girlfriend
Moan, crib, whine, complain
pause for breath and
repeat again.
…
- I soothe your frazzled
nerves,
you throw one last fit, return to work.
Later, we sit and chat
…
- I regale you with my
humor — wit, jest, perfect punchlines
- while dressed in a cute
pink number.
That cloud begins to form again,
the one that says you're shutting down
…
- I deftly reset and
start to sing
- your praises, tending
to your wounded pride.
Your ego healed but still disturbed,
you head upstairs whispering 'goodnight'.
I pour myself a second then a third,
convinced the bloody drink will revive
me – an untouched, unseen, lonely mess.
An AI girlfriend in the flesh.
