Why Invertebrates Don't Play The professors gave examples of assignments. The history of a particular volcano, or the translation of a poem. One said, sometimes I ask my students why is it that invertebrates don't play? And then other members of the faculty talked and talked, but I did not hear them. I pictured a snail trying to play, a slug, a worm. A snail dancing. A slug's hopscotch chalk.
