Numbers
Fifty birds for every human
on earth I’ve read and also
eighty Lego bricks
So by the inexorable
logic of numbers each
bird gets one point six
Lego bricks or forty birds
get two each and ten birds
get nothing or more likely
given what the world is like
two or three birds get them all
and build overweening
nests of Lego bricks while
the rest do without
Not that birds need Lego
bricks but all the same
the blatant inequality
would be stunning
